Article 5: Officers of the Council

1. The Council shall elect a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary and a Treasurer, who shall serve until the end of the next EUROPACAT;
2. In addition, the chairman of the Organisation Committee of the next EUROPACAT shall serve as an officer during the two years preceding the EUROPACAT;
3. Only those who are already Officers or members of the Council are entitled to nominate and be nominated for office, and to vote in the elections;
4. A person who is a candidate for office must be proposed and seconded by members of the Council, and must signify willingness to stand;
5. Elections shall be conducted by a secret ballot, and shall be decided by a simple majority of those present and voting;
6. Each officer must be a representative of a different country;
7. No person may serve in the same Office for more than two consecutive terms.
